Putting The “I” In AI
Ever since AI hit the scene, businesses have looked at it as a fast, cheap way to create the content they need.
There’s a well-known maxim in the freelancing world: Fast, Cheap, Good – Pick Two.
In other words, you might get a project done fast and cheaply, but it’s not going to be very good. Or you may get a high-quality project done fast but it’s not going to be cheap. And finally, you may get a project that is relatively inexpensive and good—but it’s not going to be fast.
All that to say that the bulk of AI-generated copy isn’t very good.
Sure, you can get passable copy that fills the gaps. But it’s copy that won’t turn heads.
It’s copy that is bland, soulless, and now… ubiquitous.
You can see it when the opening paragraph starts with “In the world where…”
Doesn’t your business deserve better?
Of course it does. This is where a skilled copywriter enters the conversation and dominates the room.
The truth is, AI can only regurgitate what already exists. It can curate data, but create content with just the right amount of intrigue? Unlikely.
For almost two years I have tracked AI and experimented with it, myself. Here is the one word missing from all AI content.
I.
I, meaning me. I, meaning you. I, meaning your business.
AI is generating copy from scraping whatever information it can from various sources, but YOU are the most important source that exists. If you’re using AI to write copy for your business, I do hope you’re massaging that copy like a well-trained Swedish masseuse.
AI-generated copy needs:
- Emotion to connect to your target market
- Tone of voice to match your company brand
- Conversational language
Most of the copy I’ve seen is deficient in all three, to one degree or another.
And it has no clue about your stories.
How can you trust a software platform to communicate your unique message?
Don’t only use AI.
Use AI combined with my editing talents. Together.
I’ll put the “I” back into your message, where it belongs.
By the way, all of this was written by yours truly, AI-free. Straight from the heart.
