I don’t know where it started, but as long as I can remember, I absolutely loathe being in a car and not knowing exactly how to reach my destination.
Back when I lived in Charlotte, NC, I had visited my family in Ohio and was driving back home. Somehow I had taken a wrong turn and found myself in a small rural town in Tennessee.
Due west from the correct route by about two hours.
It was like the highway had wrapped itself around me like a boa constrictor and was squeezing the life out of me!
Ugh.
After stopping to re-examine my trusty Atlas map (old school… pre-smartphone) and confirming some directions with a local, I was back on track.
And since that trip was usually a 9-hour drive… it made for a very long day.
Why It’s Easy to Become Lost
See, my problem was that I was the only one in the car.
I only could so do much at the wheel.
I couldn’t stay glued to the map as I drove.
And I could only glance down to take a quick look at the map to make sure I was on track.
Obviously, I had missed something.
You better believe I’m glad for the GPS.
I call it “The Marriage Saver.”
The Cowboy and I have driven 18-hours straight to Florida, but it was great because the GPS kept us safe.
Just punch in the address of our hotel and I arrived there like a local, who knew my way around the town inside and out.
Yes!!!
Think of yourself as a GPS for your own clients.
They probably don’t know which way to turn, either.
Confused… overwhelmed… and oh, wait… did we just pass a Krispy Kreme with the “HOT NOW” light on?
Easily distracted, they are.
Expert guide, you are.
Make things very clear and very simple for them and you’ll be their BFF forever.
How to Get Back on Track With Your Marketing
I’m not sure if you had the opportunity to read my interview with tech expert, Greg LaFollette, CPA, CITP, CGMA, but he referred to this concept several times.
Business owners are coming to their CPAs and accountants and saying, “Please. Will you steer me in the right direction? And hold my hand while you do it?”
Wouldn’t it be nice to have the time to do this and not have to focus on sales and marketing?
I have a program to help CPAs and accountants put client attraction on auto-pilot.
It shows you how to build a successful online marketing strategy, with me as your guide (and at times, driver).
It’s my own brand of marketing GPS.
If you’re tired of wandering the wilderness… trying every newfangled “blueprint” but still feeling lost.
Reach out and tell me where you are.
I’ll be there to get you out of the woods and put you on the road toward your goals.
